Just a quick post (the internet in Cusco is not great) to let everyone know we are back from the Inca Trail and Macchu Picchu. The experience in a couple of words; astonishing, difficult, spectacular, energising. Promise to fill you in on all the details of our 4 day trek once we are back in Lima.
Tomorrow we leave for town of Puno in Peru for the Lake Titicaca part out of our Inca Heartlands Tour. Leaving the hotel at 7 am by bus for an 8 hour trip including stops along the way to visit more Inca archaeological sites. The stone work/masonry never gets old.
Today was a rest day so it was time for laundry (8 kgs worth) shoe shines (our boots were a little worse for wear after the Inca Trail), posting home our purchases so we don´t blow out our luggage limits and goodbyes with people from our tours who are either heading home or off for some different adventuring to us.
So it´s Team Kealey out until Lima Peru.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackHey, we forgot to mention that the Shoe Shine guy (who was like 100 years old) tried to rip us off. We agreed on a price of say $4 for both of us ($2 each) and then when he was done, we were really happy with his work so we gave him $5. He then said great, thanks, and that will be another $5 for Peta’s shoes! We started to negotiate in our broken spanish and the police just happened to be walking past. They just looked at the vendor for 2 seconds and he changed his tone, started thanking us and went back to his work. It may be just the language barrier but I think he was trying to extort us! The fun of travel indeed!!
