For those that we haven’t been seeing regularly for the last month or so, feel privileged that you haven’t been swept up in operation “migrate”. For those few lucky people, you have been spared from us talking incessantly about our new.
So, from experience we can now strongly recommend against trying to move over Christmas/New Years [...]

It’s been all airports, hotels and travel for us this last month or two. After an epic holiday in South America (Hola Amigos!), Peta has this week been to Sydney for her induction into the new job and role. Of course, not wanting to be left at home alone, I have been summoned to Seattle [...]

Well, we finally got to Quito after about 27 hours of airline food and airports. Amazingly, not one flight was delayed or cancelled.Â
Our path was as follows:
Brisbane>Sydney, Sydney>Auckland>Santiago (Chile), Santiago>Guayaquil (Ecuador)>Quito (Ecuador) with at least an hour at each stopover. Thats six flights and at least the inside of 4 different airports!
Suffice to say we are here [...]

Well, not exactly like Willie meant it, but we have finally taken delivery of our new car. We were looking at upgrading our WRX to a new Liberty GT Spec.B for the extra creature comforts of SatNav, electric seats, full climate control, leather and more importantly, one less pedal to deal with in traffic. As [...]

As our Snowmobiling and Shotover Jet experiences were cancelled yesterday, they were carried over to today (Saturday). We rang the Shotover team this morning [...]

Wow! We woke up today and rang in to confirm our Shotover Jet and then heli-snowmobiling adventures to find out they were both cancelled today due to an overload of snow. Bummer…
So we walked outside to find a sea of white in Queenstown. Apparently its very unusual for it to actually snow down this low, [...]

Today we woke up and decided (or more accurately our bodies did) that we needed a rest day from skiing. Peta’s calves and adductors (inner thighs for the non anatomy boffins) and my previously tortured feet (evil foot binding ski boots) decided that we should continue our skiing after a days rest. As we are [...]

On Wed night we went to the Skyline Gondola Restaurant and Kiwi Haka show. What a wonderful experience. You start off in a cable gondola that takes you on a 5 minute journey up the side of Queenstown Mountain (that’s almost vertical) where you have a spectacular view of Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu. You can [...]

Today (Wed) was awesome as it snowed buckets. It was about -8C for a fair amount of the time and even penguins were saying “Sheez mate, I am bloody freezing!”. Of course there were more hardcore boarders and skiiers today than ever. I am sure there were alot of people that called in “sick” that [...]
